At SURD Technologies, Inc. ("SURD", "we", "our", or "us"), we are committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of our users. This Privacy Policy details how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you access or use the SURD mobile application and web services.

## 1. Information We Collect
- **Account & Authentication**: Verified email address (e.g. campus email), Google unique account ID, display name, and avatar picture.
- **Profile Data**: Campus domain, branch, division, graduation year, bio, and business merchant information (if applicable).
- **User Content**: Messages (community rooms, sub-communities, direct messages, anonymous groups), posts, comments, notices, and uploaded media.
- **Device & Diagnostics**: App version, OS version, push notification tokens, and temporary connection metadata to maintain real-time chats.

## 2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain chat rooms, direct messaging, and community notice board features.
- To authenticate users securely via Google Sign-In and OTP verification.
- To deliver push notifications about incoming messages and community announcements.
- To enforce safety, prevent harassment, combat spam, and protect community integrity.

## 3. Third-Party Services & Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data. Data is only shared with essential infrastructure partners:
- **Google Play & Google Sign-In**: Authentication and mobile app distribution via Google Play Services.
- **Cloudinary**: Encrypted cloud media storage for user-uploaded chat photos and profile pictures.
- **Expo**: Push notification delivery.

## 4. Data Retention & Account Deletion
- **Edit & Modify**: You can update your profile information and preferences at any time in app settings.
- **Message Deletion**: Users can delete messages they sent in direct chats or group rooms.
- **Account Deletion**: Request permanent account deletion in app settings or by contacting `noreply@surd.me`. Data is permanently purged within 30 days.

## 5. Children's Privacy
SURD is designed for college campus communities and adult users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 13.
